The ICSID Caseload - Statistics now available online
The ICSID Caseload - Statistics, just published by the ICSID Secretariat, contains an overview of all the cases registered or otherwise administered by ICSID as of December 31, 2009, and of the cases registered or administered in 2009 alone. This online report provides a variety of information on ICSID’s cases, including the geographic distribution of cases by State party to the dispute and the distribution by economic sector. The report also includes data on outcomes of ICSID proceedings, as well as the nationalities of arbitrators, conciliators and ad hoc committee members appointed in ICSID cases. The ICSID Caseload - Statistics will be updated bi-annually.

News 

  • Venezuela has awarded two of the three oil blocks in the Carabobo oil auction, attracting significant foreign investor interest.
  • Oil service company Tidewater Inc. has filed with the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes a request for arbitration against Venezuela regarding compensation for its seized vessels.
  • India and Latvia have signed a bilateral investment and technology agreement.
  • OPIC is offering Haiti an immediate special line of credit of up to US$50 million to access OPIC financing and political risk insurance for investment in the country.
  • Zurich's Surety, Credit & Political Risk group has announced an alliance with the Korea Export Insurance Corporation.
